Whats with the new S&W SD9 and 40 pistolss

Looking through the LGS's flier online, I saw that they had new pistols from S&W, called the SD in 9mm or .40. So I went to S&W's website to learn what I could. http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/w...layErrorView_Y

Basically it looks like they took the Sigma, made the slide look more like the M&P, and added $100 to the price of the Sigma. The frame is definitely descended from the Sigma. Now, I do own a Sigma 9mm, I bought it a while ago because I was in college, and wanted a 9mm so I could shoot centerfire cheaper than my 1911 carry gun. It certainly is an entry level pistol, and the trigger needs work, but mine has at least been reliable, with both fmj and jhp's (I thought about carrying it and tried it out with jhps, but it never had a chance to replace my 1911s).

So, anyone got any experience with one of these, gotten to handle one or anything? I'm not in the market for a polymer 9mm or 40 or anything, but I just kind of want to see if it is just a Sigma with a fancier slide. It even appears it might take the same magazines.
