    Snap caps and dummy rounds

    Not sure which forum is the correct one for this topic, so I'll throw it out here and hope for the best:

    What's the difference between snap caps and dummy rounds?
    Do either of them actually release a projectile when fired?
    Are either of these the safest/best/least destructive way to dry fire?
    Any other options?

    Thanks in advance for any and all opinions presented.
