A little weekend fun with my baby girl!

About a month ago I posted a thread about shopping with my kids for an upcoming course they wanted to take. Well my son backed out a couple weeks ago for a trip to Cedar Point. That left me and my oldest daughter. I had a fun but hectic time getting her geared up and some practice in. She's never been into shooting all that much, just a once or twice a year thing.
The 2 day course is run by a local guy and his staff at http://www.lethalweaponstraining.com/handgun-201.html . I've been through it before and thought it would be perfect for her.
Day 1 was pretty brutal on her. It was sunny, hot and humid enough to swim in. Mostly static, postional shooting from 3 to 25 yards. Standing, different kneeling postitions and prone. It rained the night before and the wet hay-like grass made prone not so much fun. She was a trooper. Not a single complaint the entire day. She learned fast and did much better than I thought she would. She also passed out 5 minutes into the ride home.

Day 2 was better....except for the heavy rain most of the morning that turned the pistol range into a small pond. Day 2 was shoot on the move day. I've trained in the rain before but nothing like this. Footing was slick to say the least. Everything was soaked, guns slick, mud everywhere and about as much fun as you can legally have in the rain! Even after the sun came out in the afternoon and turned the range into a sauna, the smile never came off her face. I think I created a monster, she wants more!

Sorry for the long post ladies and gentlemen but I just felt like screaming it to the world how proud this dad is. Yes, that's a pink holster!

I can't think of a better way to spend a weekend! Ones children, firearms and mudyou are definitely creating a monster! beautiful and deadly, Great combo.

great for the both of you!...theres something about shooting that makes the weather not matter as i can remember shooting skeet and trap along with hunting in the rain with my day as a kid and nothing would deter me....

glad she enjoyed it...and i'm sure shes looking forward to more quality time with dad...

Too bad the boy opted, out although a daughter is more likely to be at risk. I wish all parents would train their daughter's to be proficient with firearms.

Thanks guys! I knew you'd understand why I can't get this smile off my face.

My son wanted to go but it was a camping/Cedar Point trip with his best bud. I don't blame him and he's only 16 so another year might be good for him.

Shes a beautiful young lady, and you should be very proud she is taking such an interest. If it take things like a pretty pink holster to get her interest in a good rig, and have her carry it and use it for such good training, then good it is. Great job Dad.

Way to go Dad! Sounds like one heck of a father-daughter weekend. But did she have to get a pink holster? I'm looking for to the same with my granddaughter--despite what her momma says!

i got my then 9 year old daughter intersted in shooting this year....she likes shooting the rifle...asked me if they made pink rifles...i gound her a pink 10/22 that week and bought it....if it keeps her interest i'll start shooting pink guns....
