Attention Phoenix, AZ Members!
Need some help here if someone can lend it - A lifelong friend of mine who lives out there in Phoenix has recently seen the light regarding carrying a defensive firearm and has purchased a Springfield GI model. I advised him to buy one of these and then take the pistol to a master pistolsmith and get him to do a reliability/trigger/beavertail job on the gun. Preferably I would like a gunsmith who builds guns for IPSC/IDPA competitors since those guys pretty much know what works and what doesn't.
Thanks for any help you can give, just post names/phone numbers or PM me with the info, I appreciate it.

Why would you have him ruin a perfectly good 1911 with race gun garbage? Replace the MSH with a non lock one from vz grips and be done with it. The GI model is reliable and functional as is. Why ruin it?
