M&P Pistol Action Package
Has anyone with an M&P gotten the Action Package done by Smith and Wesson?
I was looking at the Apex Tactical drop in version ( https://apextactical.com/store/produ...php?pid35.html ), but it'll void the warranty on the pistol.
If anyone has gone with the S&W package, please post your thoughts on it.
Is it a noticable difference?
Worth the money?

Why do you think it'll void the warranty?
Don't do stupid things, don't go to stupid places, don't hang out with stupid people...

I contacted Smith and Wesson and asked. They said the third party action job with void the warranty.

Hi,
I have 3 MP's. One has a Performance Center upgrade. It has a much nicer than stock trigger pull and better reset. I put APEX tactical duty kits in the other 2 pistols. They also have a much nicer than stock trigger pull. The Apex parts are drop in. If you have a problem with something in the pistol take those parts back out before it goes to S&W. If something goes wrong with the APEX parts, call them, they are very helpful. If you modified your original sear and firing pin block yourself I could see that as voiding the warranty.
The Performance Center (PC) work was about twice the cost of the APEX duty kits. The main difference on my pistols is where the trigger breaks. In the PC pistol, the trigger breaks noticeably farther out in the trigger guard and so the reset is longer. The APEX pistols both break near the rear of the travel and have a shorter reset. Reset in both is much better than stock. I would give the edge to the APEX modified pistols but they have the heavier trigger return spring installed. The sears from the PC and APEX are both noticeably shaped differently than the stock sear but are also quite different when comparing the PC sear to the APEX sear. That shape helps determine where the trigger breaks.
I am happy with the PC center work and they do some feed ramp work that obviously is not available with the APEX kits but I would go with the APEX kits in the future, both for the cost and the the ability to add stiffer springs to improve reset.

I do love my drop APEX tactical parts. Made my M&P a shooter with little effort. It could almost change my mid about the 1911 as my favorite best competition platform :)
