The smell of Hoppes #9 reminds me of root beer. Maybe with a hint of diesel. My desk already smells like it anyway since I was clumsy and knocked over a bottle while trying to clean a new gun for the first time while watching a break down video on my computer.

I can’t stand the stench of most air fresheners but that is one even I would like.

Inhaling solvents over the long term can lead to serious medical issues, as it can cause slow brain damage. Most common symptoms of long term solvent inhalation are slurred speech, and a lack of coordination.

To avoid damage to your brain, always clean your firearms in a very well ventilated location. Preferably outdoors, but if indoors, definitely open your windows.

#9 always smells like a conbination of bananas and Kroil to me. On my guns Kroil about as a good as #9 in my experience.
