If you did not own a hand gun, they would issue a .38 Special 4" revolver with round nose ammo. I really don't know what they carry today...

They still issue the same S&W loaded with Winchester 125gr +P hollow points, to those employees who do not wish
    to provide their own sidearm.

However, almost all carry some kind of 9mm semi-auto and most carry Glock 19 or 17ís and two extra magazines.
Ammo selection varies with officers, from 147 Hydroshock, to 115 Spear God dots

    No, just contract security.

Anyone know the standard issue handgun for Armored Car Drivers?

Hello. From 1998-2003 I worked for Brinks here in Fort Wayne IN. At that time, Brinks issued the Smith and Wesson Model 64 .38special with a 4 inch barrel with rubber grips and a spurless hammer. During this time, Brinks was transitioning to Smith and Wesson .40cal automatics. Other smaller companies require you to provide firearm. If you are getting a revolver, get a gun with at least a 4 inch barrel.
