What was the pistol you wanted to love, but just flat out hated?

So what was the pistol that you either purchased or shot that you really wanted to like because of either hype or your own personal taste? If you have been around guns long enough, you are bound to have had one stinker in the group!

I bought a North American Arms Guardian .380 because I couldn't find Seecamp anywhere about a decade ago. It was an absolute brick in my pocket (18.72oz unloaded) and I could feel it bounce around with every step. I couldn't get it to feed JHP reliably. When I finally found a Seecamp .32 a few years later, I couldn't trade it in fast enough. I now carry a Kahr P380 or Ruger LCP in my pocket and don't know how I even carried the NAA around.

Charter Arms Bulldog Pug. I liked the idea & read some decent reviews so I bought one in the late '80s. Aweful trigger, lousy accuracy, timing issues and the barrel shroud came loose in under 100 rounds. It went back to Charter, got fixed and sold it cheap right away.

Glock, for sure. I wanted to love them due to their reputation of reliability and such. Could never shoot them well, although last time I tried one the end result was a little better. Still can't stand the grip.

Glock 21. While I love my G19 and 32, the large frame models feel like holding a 2x4.

H&K's - I was told by an experienced and reputable pistol salesman/shooter(also a personal friend of mine) that H&K's were the best. I have shot them and they are exceptional in every way except for the fact that they just don't feel good in my hand. I want to love them, but I can't. They just don't feel good to me.

Actually there were two: Glock 30 and Sig 239. Glock 30 was just too thick and awkward for me to carry. Sig: for its size and weight carried only 7 rounds, and in 40 cal. was very snappy.

For me it would be the Glock 19 and I've tried and tried and tried. Maybe a Gen 4 will feel different. I have yet to see if my local store has one though. I love my Glock 17 and 27 but not the 19.

H&K USP....just felt like a 2x4 in my hands....personally, I liked where they had the ambi mag release (underneath the trigger guard on the front strap)

Glocks....but I *might* **think about** a Gen 3 model *gasp* in the future....

Sub-compact Glock pistols, all of them. Not a single one fits my hand. The "brick" nickname seems a good one, given how they fit my hand ergonomically. The original, first-generation Glock 19 wasn't bad, but I think it has gotten fatter over time (in terms of grip circumference). As for the micro Glocks, I'd love to enjoy them. But, so long as they're so big around, that's just not in the cards. Never owned one, though I have handled most of them.

Of my own collection, I have only sought to evaluate and consider pistols that I felt would be good carry guns. So, I really haven't ever acquired a pistol that I ended up hating. The one pistol that I ended up not liking was due to its lack of reliability: Kahr PM9 9mm. It has nothing to do with the basic package and materials. I believe there isn't another pistol made that quite compares to the PM9. As such, at some point, I'll almost certainly have another one (or two). But, the one I got was a lemon, through and through. Until it had been back to Kahr several times, it wouldn't reliably work. However, by that point, I had lost confidence in it. Sold it.
