Finally, a 1911 added!!
First, thanks to all of you who gave your opinions on what make/model of 1911 you'd carry. It helped narrow down that search among so many makers out there.
First shot is of the new piece, A Springfield 1911 Loaded. I picked it up at my local FFL and it is used. It's in great condition and came with a custom leather holster and a set of Pachmayr grips along with an extra mag. I've yet to fire it, my first step is to tear it down and clean it thoroughly.
I did carry it yesterday all day and it is far, far easier to conceal than my XD45, which makes little sense to me. The grips when compared are nearly identical, the XD being slightly longer in grip, shorter in body length compared to the 1911.
But enough of my blathering....the money shot, followed by a pic of my small collection. So far...

Congrats on the new 1911. It looks like the 'triad' will be keeping you much safer.

Congrats on the 1911 addition. Yup, my Kimber replaced my three glocks as my carry choice due to the ease of carry, and after the first range session it was final.

There is something about a 1911 that almost everyone likes. Everyone should own at least one. Enjoy!
BTY, Did you happen to ask why it was traded in? Just curious.

My understanding was a simple money matter. I was all too happy to oblige. :8

Money matters. It is sad that so many have to sell their worldly possessions due to this economy. But hay, his loss is your gain. The other good news is that .45 ACP is back on the shelves almost everywhere at decent prices. Shoot it and let us know how you like those grips.

I wouldn't carry a gun until I knew it would shoot and I was hitting where I was aiming, nice gun but get it to the range before you trust your life with it

Congrats on the Springer. I'm waiting on my Loaded Champion to come back from SA. Wouldn't feed JHP ammo, so for me it was a no go until they resolve the issue.
