Not your average shipping question.
I'm going to be attending a class in VA later this month and for some reason I just have this string aversion to flying with my guns this time, I don't know why, maybe that this is the first time that I NEED my guns when I land but this time I just don't want to fly with them.
I know that you can ship guns to yourself next day, but can I ship a gun to myself next day and have it sent to the hotel where I am staying?
The ATF says this:
The outfit putting on the class told me I could ship my ammunition (1K of .45ACP is too much to bring on a plane), I wonder if they would let me ship my pistols, or at least one of them to them...guess I'll ask.
Q: May a nonlicensee ship firearms interstate for his or her use in hunting or other lawful activity?
Yes. A person may ship a firearm to himself or herself in care of another person in the State where he or she intends to hunt or engage in any other lawful activity. The package should be addressed to the owner. Persons other than the owner should not open the package and take possession of the firearm.
