Am I a bad friend ?

I lean toward autos and my friend like revolvers, but like some others who post here he will not sell anything.

I think that most guys that love guns like both platforms but lean one way or the other.

So when he pick up a S&W CS9 a few months back and was not pleased with it, but I loved it and would like to have it ,I knew I had my work cut out for me.
I had to pull a fast one on him to get it.

I can across a deal on a nice Colt Detective Special ($250) and bought it ,then took him shooting and let him try out my new gun .
Of course he liked it then a week later I ask him about trading it for the CS9 .
It took him about a week before the itch got too much for him and we worked out a deal on a trade we both though was fair.
So I ask you, Am I a bad friend or what?

You both got what you wanted, how could that be bad? I don't have either of the models you mentioned but I do love revolvers so I guess he feels he got the better end of the deal. I love the look of the later Colt DS with the ramp front sight and shrouded ejector rod. While I would love to have the DS but I would accept a Colt Magnum Carry in its place. BTW I do carry semi-auto pistols as well but I was brought up with revolvers and they feel natural to me.

The one I traded was a later model (1974) with the ramp front sight and shrouded ejector rod.
It has a smooth trigger and the hammer was bobbed for in the pocket carry like the cops did
back in the day.
My friend is an ex LEO so it suited him to a tee.

You were 'creative' to get what you want. If you're both happy, that's all that counts. You didn't cheat him or weren't dishonest, so you weren't a bad friend at all.
