Actually, one is an XD9 service and the other is an XD9 sub compact.
I'll see if I have any better pictures.

Packerfan, I like that idea. I would like to do this with the new bi-tone XD-45, do you think this same thing can be done with the .45? I would buy one and carry it if it could be done. I know little about plastic but does doing this make you lose a round or two in the mag?

Nice job by the way, what a great idea.

ETA: did you know where to cut by using the sub as your guideline I'm guessing?

Train and train hard, you might not get a second chance to make a first impression!

To answer your third question first, yes.

It theoretically could be done with the .45, however there are no sub compact mags for the.45 so the mags would have to be fabricated. Also I don't think you'd be able to use a Pierce pinky extender with it if the mags were fabricated.
I've heard that a sub compact XD.45 will be coming out in 2007. So if that happens then cutting down a service model would be a fairly easy transition for the mags.

Well, at that angle, it's kind of hard to tell.
