An Optical Red Dot or a true Holographic? They are not in any way the same.
You are probably not going to be able to keep the price down on a Holographic weapon sight.

I put a TruGlo red dot on my 22a for less than $40. Works great in most lighting situations with its adjustable brightness.
BTW - The 22a is a great value & reilable shooter.

There is a little plastic (Nylon maybe) recoil pad that wears on these but is extremely inexpensive. Brownells has them as well as S&W. Seems I recall it needing to be replaced at 500 or so rounds. I have the same pistol and absolytely love it. Ton of fun to shoot! Nover bothered to add any any accessories though..

Thanks all I ordered a UAG Tactical 4 Reticle Red Dot Open Reflex Sight with Weaver-Picatinny Rail Mount for 40 bucks will let yall know how it shoots next time at the range.

I've often wondered about those S&W rimfires. Are they any good?

Havent got to the range yet but its solid built, easy tear down and comes with extra mag at a good price.

The red dot will be great. Bought a 22a about 7 years ago, great plinker. IMO the red dot takes the challenge out of plinking, so I took it off.
