    Need advice

I have been looking for a Ruger Markii to plink with for a while. My business partner and best friend found a deal on a 50th anniversary in the box unfired mint condition and gave it to me today. Do I dare shoot it or should I pack it away he is serious about me shooting it but dang I am torn. If you were in my shoes what would you do.

    It's a shooter. It's a $300 gun with some special markings.

In reality, very, very few "commemorative" firearms have any special collector value. To have real collector value, a gun must already start with a somewhat limited production run that ended some time ago, like maybe a Colt Python or a S+W Outdoorsman.

Of all the Ruger .22 pistols, the MkII is the best, in my opinion. It has a 10-round mag vs. the 9-round of the MkI and Standard, and doesn't have the unnecessary "safety features" of the MkIII (magazine safety, loaded chamber indicator). It's a great pistol, so grab a couple of bricks of decent (skip the bulk-pack stuff) ammo and start shooting!

Dis. Fire away. Have fun with it.
A CCW is like a parachute; if you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again.

No! Do Not Shoot It! It could lose a lot of value if you do shoot it, even once.

Send it to me to avoid any loss in value, I'll shoot it for you...secretly...then I'll ship it back to you with a full report. No one will know!

If it's not a one-of-a-kind, hand-engraved special, it's off an assembly line, limited numbers as may be. Load 'er up and fire away.

I see no reason to own a gun and not shoot it. Lock & load!

Yea, they are sweet shooters, I'd rather shoot my Mark II than any gun I have....just plain fun and very accurate.

Congrats, I would shoot it and have a good time.

Are you already well versed in taking it apart? That thing is a bearcat to put back together...just watched it done the other day and said a prayer that I did not have to do it.
