A rather unique version of suicide by cop.

I guess the cop will have to answer to how the guy got his gun away from him.

its not out of the realm of possibility that if he struck the officer right totally off guard he could gain possession of his firearm...contrary to what most who have not been jumped by surprize believe it doesnt take a whole lot to be overwhelmed even for just a short time if hit hard and fast...

too bad the guy didnt grab the wrong wepon and taze himself...that would be newswothry stuff...

The officer was attacked from behind while on a work detail. There are times that the other guy is better, stronger, faster, etc, no one is immune from being beaten.

The officer was attacked from behind by the nutcake. A Telephone utility person on the jobsite attempted to wrestle with the guy, who most likely came from the Courthouse down the street from where the incident ocurred. I know this section of Lynn Ma, and it's full of STRANGE people. Lucky the Officer didn't get shot in the process, as that might have been the original motive. A photo of the guy is in the News Article. Too bad for BOTH involved, as the guy was 27 yrs old. What a senseless act.
