    Glock 24

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nf1wfUHAqhs

Here is a clip of the G24 in action.

There is a problem with the 2nd round, he explains it at the end as being caused by the extended slide release and his unfamiliarity with it.

Did that happen because a finger got in the way while shooting, or what? I've just not heard of that and am curious as to the details of how that might happen.

It is very likely.. These guns were originally built for competition and range use. The 34/35 is also like this. They are great long range shooters. I have seen them make 100 yd shots relatively easy.

That was a good little review. I had never even heard of the Glock 24.

There was a 17L (long slide) and a 24, 9mm and .40 cal respectively....very small cult following for those guns...but they are know to be accurate and good guns for range work.

Yes, it could be the extended slide release. The thumb gets under the little bump and moves it up in recoil, locking the slide back. That also happens if you reassemble the frame internals in the wrong order. The G24 is a cool idea, but wound up being too big for the IDPA or the USPSA gun box, and in came the G34/G35. A slightly cut down version!
