I dont think it is pointless, I asked a question and several people responded with thoughtful informative comments. I am now a little more educated on the subject and that is a good thing (at least from my perspective).

There is nothing wrong with any of the guns that I own. However, I like the idea of (and would like to own) a DA/SA Springfield EMP type of thing. I think it would be the perfect little carry gun for me. Sadly, it seems the majority disagrees'.

    Thanks to everyone who replied.

If you like the EMP, compromise a little, and go for that Para Ordanance LDA carry 9 on the post above?. I would love one!

Love my old 1911 but for every day carry, I love my Para .45 LDA CCW even more. The LDA trigger is by far the smoothest trigger I've used.

Smooth, but long, and it pivots instead of a straight back pull. Can't compare to a good SA 1911 trigger.

I don't understand the "DA/SA Springfield EMP type of thing." Last I knew, the EMP was SA only - a classic 1911 design, scaled down to fit the 9mm and .40 S&W.

Agreed, I had a gunsmith smooth up a S&W Highway Patrolman for me years ago and it feels very much like that trigger. After all these years I'm just not comfortable carrying cocked and locked....dunno why, so this gives me the feel of a 1911, in .45 with a trigger like a slick, smooth revolver.
