Wow. The shredded cheese on popcorn is no joke! How did I stumble this far in life without putting those two together before?

I still prefer butter over Mobile1 Synthetic, though.

Bushmaster is a good, but overpriced, hobby gun.

Bushmaster lacks QA/QC, uses cheap parts, and often assembles their rifles incorrectly.

Other than that, they are GTG. I mean, if buying overpriced, low quality, improperly assembled AR15s is your bag, go for it! What's not to like?

I don't know if their QA/QC has changed over the years, but I bought my Bushmaster AR-15 about 10 years ago. I've got thousands of rounds through it, and the only problem I ever had was a nasty double feed that locked the bolt midway and I had to use a screwdriver to pry it open. The problem was magazine induced. Changed the spring and have never had a problem yet. Shoots good, finish has held up to a lot of hard use, and the parts all fit and function great.

Like was said, tear down, clean, lube, you used the C (eap) word, my bushy M-4 had a messed up trigger but a new 2 stage rock river fixed that, n the more I shoot it the smoother it gets, AKA break in time, could that be what you need.....

And here is the problem. "thousands of rounds" over 10 years is not many rounds over a long period of time. Therefore, it is a good "hobby gun". The problem is, there are now plenty of options on or about the same price range as Bushmaster that are made of better parts and put together better as well. And as far as QA/QC, I am unaware that Bushmaster has any.

Spike's offers a better gun for $799. You can put together a world class gun right now by going to Palmetto States Armory and buying a stripped lower for $70, a complete lower kit for $149 and go to www.smartgunner.com and get a Daniel Defense Cold Hammer Forged barrel upper with DD 1.5 back up sight for $550. Both places have free shipping, so my jefro math tells me you can have a superb, heavy use carbine for $770.

Or, you can get a Bushmaster with a low quality barrel with a badly cut chamber, a crooked and incorrect front sight, installed incorrectly, an extremely low quality bolt and bolt carrier group assembled incorrectly, made of material that is inferior to the minimum gov't specifications. And that is standard for Bushmaster. That Bushmaster WILL most probably run through a couple hundred rounds a year for 10 years just fine. But heat it up and use it hard and good luck.

Either the Spike's or the Daniel Defense/Palmetto State Armory gun I mentioned will, with a high probability, go through thousands of rounds a day without issue.

Finish and fit have nothing to do with what I'm talking about. Absolutely the least important part of the AR experience, if you ask me.

Maybe the 'break-in' isn't so much of an issue. I would personally look into a different buffer, and or spring in this case to slow the cycling speed a bit. This may or may not work better for the HPs in your Bushmaster. Can't say I've heard of many issues with a full size AR15 in 9mm, of course I don't usually hear about running 9mm hollow points through one either. If you really want some answers, call Bushmaster directly and ask for tech support and run the issue by them. I almost know what they'll tell you, and you can enjoy that Yankee accent while you're listening. (1-800-883-6229). Bad experiences happen with any product on the market. Several reasons for bad experiences. A).....you got a lemon. B).....your complete understanding of it's limitations and reading the owner's manual. C).....any variables not previously mentioned.
One product isn't necessary "junk" until you've ruled out all of the variables and narrowed it down to a fault of the product itself. Out of the four Bushmasters I've owned, one of them had a canted front sight issue which was quickly resolved through customer service. They didn't pay me or re-supply me for my spent ammo, but they made it right. Many here might agree with you on the "Bushmaster is junk" theory. I have my own personal theories about that as well. I won't even attempt to explain it now. Important thing is, I'd like to resolve your issues for you so you are happy with your firearm....not just because you're calling a Bushmaster "junk". I'm into brand name bashing just about as much as I'm into caliber bashing. I keep an open mind unless I've had extensive experiences that lead me to believe otherwise.

So.......does anybody put shredded cheese on their popcorn right after it's hot out of the microwave? I'd sort of like to see some reviews on this if you've never tried it before. College football game day! A good time to
    Itry it! LOL!
I just got my Bushmaster Carbon 15 supper lite this week and haven't fired it yet. I started reading some of the not so good reports on it so i called Bushmaster to see what they had to say and they told me two or three things that they had donimproveprovereliabilityablly of the gun ( not that they would tell me the truth ) so i will wait to see i guess.

Were there posts deleted from this thread? I remember reading this thread sometime ago and from what I remember, it was a lot longer than what this one is now. I remember 120mm having dialogue with a member or two and it was somewhat extensive. Maybe I'm thinking of another thread he was in where there were disagreements but I really thought it was this one.
