What was the reason? Were they shutdown for petty accidental paperwork errors or some larger crime?locally here in the KC area, 2 gun shops have lost their FLL..

Either that or straw purchases being made by gang members who arent on the police record file yet.

If so, how would that make the FFL holder responsible if the police don't have a record on the purchaser? All the seller can do is check ID and initiate the required background checks. The seller has no idea of where that firearm is going once it leaves the door. More likely a matter of such sloppy paperwork that the ATF pulled the license.

Where I live a very visible black arms dealer has been repeatedly harassed by agents taking over part of his shop to review each and every transaction searching for some discrepancy. He is careful to stay within the letter of the law but the agency doesn't agree with the law and goes after the black arms dealers. Other, traditional FFL's in town have been left alone.
one was a stupid move, but i think they were set up, 2 young men come in wanted to sell handguns. supposedly the owner wanted to keep the guns himself, he gave one employee one of them, and for some stupid reason he put one in the show case. the agents came in and specifically asked where these certain guns with those serial numbers where, when they investigated they found the one for sell. he didnt log it nor the others in. but if he wasnt set up then why did they asked for those certain guns.
The other shop, had been opened only 3 or 4 months.. apparently couldnt keep his paper work correct, and it has been said that this was the second time and last, yanked his license on the spot. with more investigation to come and possible charges.
