Shooting Training Tool
My 16 year old has shown interest in wanting to go to the range with me. So we went with my 40 Sigma & my S&W 357 revolver. He shot 40 cal .38 as well as 357 loads. I have to admit he did fairly well.
Here's his target below.
Now he really wants to hone his skills. Since it is impossible to be at the range everyday (like he wants), I thought that a good alternative would be a BB gun.
Would a BB pistol be better for this purpose than an Airsoft, or are they about the same?
I figure he can practice in the yard during the week & we can hit the range twice a month.

I've never used an airsoft, but almost always had my Daisy lever-action BB gun in hand as a kid (many years ago). I give full credit to some amazing big-game shots to the billions of BBs fired during my youth. (Try shooting dragonflies out of the air for practice!)
If you have the space to fire a BB gun, I'd say go for it. Just make sure sonny realizes that a BB goes a long way and will put an eye out quickly. Restrictions are so limiting these days; I'd check local ordinances first. My city recently included BB guns on the list of weapons not allowed to discharge except in SD.

Sorry for off topic... what's the green color on the target? I haven't seen that before.

There called "Shoot N C" The fluorescent color in the target helps you see where your hitting.

They make some incredibly realistic metal BB guns/Airsoft guns these days. I'd try to find one most like what he'll be shooting, whichever way you decide.

I agree, I have seen the TSD Sports 6-in Barrel UA934S Airsoft Revolver. It's as close as possible to my 6" S&W Model 19-5 .357 as I can find.

Yup, go airsoft, but go gas rather than spring.
