Shipping Firearms In State
According to the BATFE~
(B9) May a nonlicensee ship a firearm by carrier?
A nonlicensee may ship a firearm by carrier to a resident of his or her own state or to a licensee in any state. A common or contract carrier must be used to ship a handgun. In addition, Federal law requires that the carrier be notified that the shipment contains a firearm and prohibits common or contract carriers from requiring or causing any label to be placed on any package indicating that it contains a firearm. [18 U. S. C. 922( a)( 2)( A) and 922( e), 27 CFR 178.31]
From this I gather that I CAN ship a handgun, by FedEx, Next Day from my KENTUCKY location to a buyer with in KENTUCKY and neither of us have a FFL.
Am I correct?

I know how it reads, but something is telling me you will have to ship it to an FFL.
Edit: I retract that. After reading through it myself, I believe you are right. As long as it is being shipped within your own state and meets your "State" requirements, you can ship to another individual within your state.
Keep in mind. You will have to go to a UPS or Fedex Hub location. Shipping/packing stores or pick-up points located within other business, etc. will not ship firearms.

The way I read this, is that "licensee in any state" part is referring to an FFL. So, in-state your OK, out-of-state requires an FFL.

As far as the feds are concerned you can do that. Just make sure that Kentucky state law also allows it and you should be just fine.
