    Two Guns,

You are indeed blessed. Forgetting for a moment that your spouse gave you a Parker, just the fact that she gave you a gift that you treasure and appreciate should make you treasure her even more. I too was blessed, as I got to spend Christmas with my Bride. This is the first Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Day After Christmas that we have had together in seven years.

Next Christmas ask her for a digital camera. It will cost a lot less money!

She must have spent a pretty penny on you. I've seen samples of that model in far, far worse shape than that sell for $1,400. Parkers in excellent condition can command $3,000, even $6,000, depending on their grade.

Your gun looks in amazing condition for a century old firearm. Congrats!

I know how you feel. I have a classic Winchester 1897 shotgun that took me a couple of years of looking for in order to find an example of the model that I wanted that was in great condition. It was made in the mid 30's, though, so it is not as old as your Parker.

There is something very special about owning an old classic firearm. You are not just holding a gun in your hands. You are also holding a piece of history too.

One really has to baby these guns, as replacement parts are simply not available for them any more. But fortunately with a double barrel Sxs, there really is not much at all that could fail.

Are you hoping to take it out hunting next year? I've only shot my Winchester a few times at the range.

If I ever had a wife like that.... I would have kept her. Instead, I have to go buy it myself. LOL.
