Yep. I think it pretty neat with the hammer and sickle on it.

The 1945 kind of throws me tho. From what I've read so far, they didn't make any that year. It was the M44.

Grab these and similar while still around.

Glad you found that - I picked one up at a gun show coupla years back all re-arsenalled and purdy - nice piece.

It does seem that already some of the C&R stuff is tailing off in availability - or at very least prices may be on the rise.

Prices are indeed on the rise. One thing is always certain in mil-surp shooting and collecting...

    The supply IS limited.

I have come so close to buying one of those! Maybe I need to pick one up at the next gun show. As was said, they aren't making any more and right now, they're CHEAP! I've even got a case of 7.62 x 54. I wish I'd bought one of those M1 Carbines at G.I. Surplus when they were going for $30 a piece (a long time ago!).

    Arkie:

Welcome to the world of the addicted. I've got 12 M44's and 11,000 rounds of ammo.

    I just can't help myself.

They are dirt cheap firearms fun and very much like Lay's potato chips.

And, also, pretty much the ultimate proof of capitalism's inherent superiority over communism.

The weapons intended to preserve and advance communism the world over are now for sale on the American market, as hobby pieces, dirt cheap.

Poor Lenin. Spinning in that glass case, I'm sure..........
