    DA/SA 9mm for under $400

I have a friend who is currently looking to get into handguns. What he wants, is a DA/SA 9mm, and is looking to keep it under $400. He really likes my Sig P6 (been trying to locate a dealer with some in stock at a fair price). Other suggestions from me were a used Cz 75, or the Stoeger Cougar in 9mm. Steel handguns are preferred, and he is open to used guns.

What are some other good options for me to suggest he look at? I have been having a brain fart when it comes to thinking up options. Carry is a possibility in the future, but for now it would be HD/target use.

    Thanks for the input.

Look for used FNP 9's, they are being discontinued and replaced with the FNX.

I need to get my hands on a Bersa in something other than .380 sometime, cause I like the .380's, but have never shot any other Bersas.

Thanks for the additions, anyone else got some? I am just trying to give my friend places to look, but really, Da/sa's (outside of Sig), and 9mm's, aren't my thing.

A used Ruger P-series (like P-85) is a very substantial gun that doesn't command a substantial price on the used market.

azchevy, thank you for that, I have never even heard of that pistol, and now I want one.

gasmitty, any ideas on the P-95? LGS has them for like $300 new.

Aftermarket support for the weapon would be nice too (holsters, mags), in case he decides to start carrying.

A Ruger P-95 for under $300 is a bargain. It's an improved version of the P-85 built in a polymer frame, and it even uses the same mags as the P-85. I would have your friend take a look at it and handle it, see if it fits his hand.
