Anybody gonna watch Sons of Guns???

Discovery is airing a show tomorrow on at 9PM EST. It is a show following Red Jacket Firearms, and the innovation and different things gun related they build. Red Jacket as many you may or may not know, are known for fine work on AK style rifles. Looks very interesting. Set your DVR.

First I've heard of it. I looked at their website and I found it... interesting.

I've been seeing commercials for it for about a month now.

Looking forward to catching a few episodes and see if it's worth following.

I watched about 10 minutes of it and turned it off. I wanted to kick the daughter in the face. She came across as very annoying.

It seems these "reality" type shows on Discovery seem to have a lot of drama in them. They say it is all unscripted, but come on really, do you think that any of the parents, whether it be Sons of Guns or OCC Chopper or whomever would put up with kids that act that way. The line the girl used that there are only two people that can tell her dad what to do and it is God and her, was a bit much.

Red Jacket may very well do great work, but I found the show to be a bit lacking from what I actually watched.
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.

I thought the suppressed Saiga 12G was pretty cool.

    I thought it was entertaining.

Yes, the daughter is a bit overbearing, but as an accountant, I can see her point. Some people cannot be trusted to use a business' resources wisely. See: the dad buying an M203 from the business' budget "because it was cool". Same for the ultrasound on the cannon. She's trying to keep his impulsive spending in check.

The suppressed S12 was pretty cool. They sell them for $2100 on their website ($2500 w/bells and whistles). The S12 master key was also very fun to see built. A five-round, semi-auto breaching attachment is pretty sweet. Though I did find it interesting that so few in the show had heard of the "master Key" concept, including the Sheriff who commissioned the project. Or perhaps they were over-explaining it for the benefit of those at home.

And I have to say, the girl's delighted reaction to launching the M203 flare was priceless!

All-in-all, I will probably keep going with this show, if only to see what else they come up with. Then again, I watched American Chopper, too; though I was only interested in the fabrication, not the drama...

What is the sense of having a business and living life if you cant let go and have a little fun? Everybody gets so obsessed with money and cant just let go and enjoy life.... the mantra is to work hard have no fun then retire when your body is old and broken and you cant have the fun you could have had in your younger days..... screw that
