    Military Handguns Since 1873

Without getting into the truly special purpose handguns and special branches of the military what handguns have been issued for use by the U.S. military? Sticking only with the sidearms that used/use brass cartridges. I'm not looking for variations of the same weapon either just the general weapon used by the general military. Matter of fact let the 1873 Colt SAA be the oldest we go back to. I'm not exmilitary but I've an interest in the weapons and history.

I came up with the Beretta, 1911, 1908 (colt), 1903 (colt), Smith and Wesson 12 and 15

I'm just curious if someone wanted a collection what would be needed.

Still trying to add to the U. S. military contract models within the collection kept around here. Waited a bit late to pick up a reasonably priced Colt M1873 or Smith & Wesson Schofield. Here are some of the U.S. military models on hand.

Colt Model 1901 .38 Long Colt

    Colt Model 1909 .45 Colt

Colt Model 1911 (bottom) .45 ACP

Nice collection indeed. I wasn't aware of the Security Six being used.
