    I have a section on my renter's insurance that covers some of it, but it isn't enough to cover my whole collection. I need to look at upgrading that...

    You'd be smart to check. You probably have some coverage under certain conditions e.g. if your gun is lost during a space alien attack happening at midnight on July 4th. And, there is probably a healthy deductible applied to any loss.

    Putting them on a personal property rider covers them for ALL loss - even if you drop it in the ocean accidently or it disappears mysteriously, or it is stolen, etc. And it covers first dollar and cost you VERY little.

    buy a very large gun safe with maximum fire protection.

    NRA insurance, homeowner insurance, three gun safes. Why would someone NOT insure their guns?
