Congrats! I picked the XDSC in 40, the XD's are really a great gun to shoot and they are very accurate as well. Enjoy!

If I had shot an XD before my Glock I would have bought one. My wife's 9mm sc is an excellent firearm and it is very accurate.

I too am a former Glock owner, who now packs an XD. While still a cop (detective), I was thrilled when Glock began making the model 27 in the mid 90's. A small, easilly concealable .40 caliber pocket rocket. I got one as soon as I could get my hands on one. Although it really didn't fit my hand, I carried it on duty and off, until retirement in 2001. After a few months in "retirement" I had a near unintentional discharge because of the lack of an external safety. The incident frightened me and that very day I traded it in on a S&W 457, compact .45 acp.

About 6 months ago, I "discovered" the Springfield XD sub compact .40. The same size as the Glock 27, but this one fits my hand like a glove, is uber-accurate and has positive safety features. I ordered one with night sights. I am very, very pleased with it and if you're looking for a small, powerful compact carry gun, check them out.

My experience & opinion, your mileage may vary.

Glad you got something that works for you and makes you happy; that is what really counts at the end of the day. The Springfield XDs are very nice guns.

Congrats! You'll love it. My wife carries an XD 40 sub compact. She loves hers. I have an XD 40 service model, two tone. I love it. It's just a little bulkier than the Glock 23 so it doesn't get carried as much by me.

Yep, that's a great gun. I have the XD-9 service two tone and the XD-45c, love both of them. I can't say anything bad about a Glock but I personally like the XD's better. Wouldn't want to get shot with either!

Great choice! I have had an XD40 for about 3 years and have yet to have a single problem with it. Very accurate, reliable and fun to shoot. Enjoy.
