Silly Mosin modifications just for fun!
Ok I have a century arms mosin 91-30 that has only a few matching numbers and the metal is in "Fair/good" It is in no way a collector rifle. I already own a 91/30 tula hex with matching #s and a m44 that are my collector rifles.
This is going to be just for giggles.
Going to keep it wood for now, as the wood is actually pretty good.
Have already bought a rubber butt pad (for the gun!! :)
Am planning on mounting a scope. I guess the ati bent bolt conversion kit with mount for 40$ will do fine unless someone has a better idea. Has anyone here done this? Is it hard and how did it turn out? I have a drill press and grinder. Wish there was a tutorial on youtube..............
Keep in mind this is a budget build.
Any thing else goofy I could slap on this?
I saw a .50 cal style muzzle break for the MN that made me laugh out loud.
May cut the barrel shorter and recrown (it was counter bored)
May sporterize the stock.
May add a ppsh style heat shield
I'm thinking total frankenmosin
What do you think?
Of course pics will follow as this progresses
