Good choice, I've often said that if I were to look for a less costly 1911 it would be RIA Tactical, sometimes I want to buy one just to beat on it and see what it will take or be decent test bed for parts fitting etc.

I just purchased my first 1911 in the Rock Island Armory Bi-Tone Tactical flavor.
I have been shooting for quite a while and always wanted a 1911 but funds usually kept them out of my reach. Low and behold I visit the local shop and they had a few Rock Island's and the prices looked attractive but I was skeptical. After doing some research I decided to go ahead and give them a try. The ones in the display case were a bit scratched up but I liked them anyway and thought that if they had one in the back that was untouched I would do it.
They did and so I brough her home.
Here she is......
All cleaned up
I am very excited to take it to the range to break it in. I am also happy that I have moved to the .45 caliber :D
Just thought I would share.
Congrats. I've really enjoyed adding some 1911's to the stable. If you ever get bored with it or find something that you don't like, they also make wonderful project guns. There are so many after-market goodies...
