P38 extended magazine?
So in a box of stuff from my father in law's attic I've come across an odd magazine. It has "P-38" engraved roughly by hand (probably by my father in law). I know he had a P38 but it's long gone. It held the fifteen rounds I had handy from a G19 magazine and seemed like it might take one or two more. Worth anything? Sorry if this is the wrong place, but I couldn't find any similar magazines online so I thought I'd put it in general firearms.

Just a thought, but the P-38/P-1 has a European type magazine release, at the heel of the grip. So I am kind of skeptical for how an extended magazine for one would work.
Where is the locking detent for the magazine release on the magazine? Pics?

The magazine locking detent is on the back of the mag, about five inches down. Here are two pics.

Tried to embed them, but without luck.

Interesting to say the least.

Huh, well, that would make sense with it being for a P-38 then, although that is rather unique.
I am having a hard time finding any info on a manufacturer of them online. Be interesting to try it out with a P-38/P1

I checked everywhere I could think of online; nothing. As I recall Stan (my father in law) said he bought it at a gun show in Texas when he was working there sometime during the 80s. I haven't picked up a Shotgun News in years; that might be a place for me to look. Other than Stan's engraving (and I'm just assuming he did it; he may have bought it that way) there are no markings on it at all except for a small stamped "7" on the inside of the base plate near the lip. Thought for sure someone on here would know something about it. Thanks for looking though.
