Another alternative to washers...
There is another option here in NH. There is a company called Tandemkross that sells the bushings as well as other firearm gear. They are great folks to work with. I have one of their bushings in my own Mark III 22/45 and it allows the mags to drop free. The polymer frame in the 22/45 for some reason the magazines drag a lot in those models.

I have just purchased a ruger mk3 22/45 and really love it, with the exception of the process you have to go through cleaning it. I have been having the same trouble, but found out that there was no way for me to hold the gun by the grip and press the mag release with my thumb and have the mag drop as I do with all my other semi's. No matter how I tried, the heel of my palm touches the rear of the expended magazine and prevents the mag form dropping. I have to hold the gun with my right hand on top of the slide area and press the mag release with my thumb. In my case, this frees up the rear of the magazine and it readily drops out. This may not even be the problem with yours, it may just be a tighter fit in the area, but I hope this helps.
