I voted to keep it in service. It's just a tool, like the jack in your car. Would you retire it because it helped you change your tire?

Anyone know what weapon was used? From the pics of Bin Ladens buddies looked like pistol rounds. Maybe double taps? Whatever it was it belongs to the Seals... NOT Obama.

i am torn. i think they should go back in service. But instead of melting them when they are done i think then, they should go somewhere to be a trophy that can be seen by the public, some appropriate Museum.

Why would you take it out of service? It's a tool. If you want to do something special with it, give it to the man who had been using it. The man who knows it/loves it. What the **** did Obama do to deserve such an honor?

I voted to keep it in service. Odds are that the SEAL that shot him had to sign for the weapon when it was issued to him. By associating a particular weapon (serial number) to the death of bin laden it is possible that somebody can use that serial number and follow the paper trail back to the individual that signed for the weapon before the operation. Their names are kept secret to protect them and their families from any form a retaliation from al-qaeda. Given how one disgruntled army private was able to cause the biggest leak of classified information to wikileaks, I would not trust that that information could stay secret myself.
