I've owned 3 in my life 2 4" blued and 1 6" SS,the SS cost me $671.00 in 1982.I don't like them enough to pay the exhorbitant prices people want.
I'm glad you like the Pythons, and if Colt ever produced them again,I would jump all over one,I bought my first one after watching "Magnum Force"

Wish I could afford the extra $$$&$ for a fine Colt.
Sadly, the $$ must go to every-day expenses. I must tough it out with my Dan Wesson 15-2VH 6 in. for a nice shooting revolver.
Great shooting!!
This thread is a DuD without pictures of the 6 in. Python !!!!!!!

Congratulations on a great set of guns! I have the stainless version, and wish I had the blued version. I bought my Python as part of a "deal" (the Python, a Les Baer Premier II, S&W model 41 for $2000-but this was a few years ago). While I was at the store fondling it during the 10 day torture period, an older gentleman told me that the Python was the finest wheelgun ever produced. He also said he bought one when they first came out, and he estimated that he had 225,000 full-load .357 rounds through it, and had only changed out one spring in the whole time he owned the gun. He seemed very knowledgable about firearms, and I asked the gunstore owner who he was after he left. He was Kirby Smith, editor of Handguns magazine. I guess he knows what he is talking about, so shoot and enjoy, they should last you more than a lifetime!
