    First ever Python shoot

I have wanted a Python for years, I've seen photos, and held a few, but never owned one. Recently I fixed that issue. I bought a really nice 6" blue and outfitted it with the correct 3rd generation stocks. Problem is, it was to nice to shoot. So I did what all gun addicts do, I found another one. A 4" blue version that is more of a shooter grade. It has a few character marks , I'd rate it as very good condition. Put on some Pach grips and took it out for some shooting. Keep in mind I have never shot a Python before. Below is the gun and a target with my first three shots from 20' away no supports. The trigger is nice and the action is very smooooooth! I am really happy with it. I am not a great shot but the Python makes me look good.

I am afraid I had to pay a bit more than that.

Wish I could afford the extra $$$&$ for a fine Colt.
Sadly, the $$ must go to every-day expenses. I must tough it out with my Dan Wesson 15-2VH 6 in. for a nice shooting revolver.
    Great shooting!!

This thread is a DuD without pictures of the 6 in. Python !!!!!!!

Congratulations on a great set of guns! I have the stainless version, and wish I had the blued version. I bought my Python as part of a "deal" (the Python, a Les Baer Premier II, S&W model 41 for $2000-but this was a few years ago). While I was at the store fondling it during the 10 day torture period, an older gentleman told me that the Python was the finest wheelgun ever produced. He also said he bought one when they first came out, and he estimated that he had 225,000 full-load .357 rounds through it, and had only changed out one spring in the whole time he owned the gun. He seemed very knowledgable about firearms, and I asked the gunstore owner who he was after he left. He was Kirby Smith, editor of Handguns magazine. I guess he knows what he is talking about, so shoot and enjoy, they should last you more than a lifetime!
