So I have been here almost a year and grad school is finally slowing down and would like to get some shooting time in.
Could you guys recommend some good shooting ranges in or around the Seattle area? Also where do you guys recommend buying ammo at a reasonable price?
If you don't mind driving a bit north (ok, about 35 miles north) I definitely recommend Norpoint range in Arlington
Welcome | Norpoint Range
Staff is great, very knowledgible and willing to answer questions or offer suggestions, rental selection is pretty good, ammo prices (you have to use theirs in the rentals) not too bad. Monday is ladies day and it can get rather busy from about 4pm to close, but if you have a lady friend that likes to shoot or you'd like to intoduce to it Monday is definitely the night to take her as she will get to see just how many women are into the sport.
As far as ammo prices, I'd have to go with Walmart. Tulalip and Smokey Point have consitently had .380 and .40 in stock the last few months and both just happen to be enroute to Norpoint (funny how that works ) the only place cheaper is Kesselrings in Burlington, but the money saved in ammo would be spent in fuel.
Range time + ammo: $50
Quality mother/daughter time: PRICELESS
Bellevue Gun Club and Norpoint Range are both good ranges. I belong to the Bellevue Gun Club, since it is < 1/2 mile from my house.

Go to Kenmore! LOL.... j/k
What type of shooting do you want to do?
For ammo, go to walmart or Ben's Pawnshop in Renton is pretty reasonable.

Holy Cow you have the Firearms Academy of Seattle in Chehalas, it is the finest training school on the West Coast. Watch Marty Hayes and Kathy Jackson on Best Defense on the Outdoor Channel.
