Sort of, keep in mind that if the barrel doesn't have a seperate shroud like the DW it may require fitting in order to index it so the sights line up and still have an appropriate cylinder gap. For most people, this is an undertaking for a gunsmith though with the tools and knowhow it can be done. Also, some revolvers may have the barrels pinned in order to keep them from unscrewing which would also have to be taken into account.

As has already been stated Colt barrels at one time and in some circles still are, king of accuracy. They were often mated with S&W K frames due to the fact that many considered the S&W lockup/triggers were more robust and easier to get the ultimate trigger job on. The most common was the Smolt. Many of the Ruger conversions combined the simplicity of the Ruger trigger and the accuracy of a Colt barrel. For whatever reason there are always 2 1/2 and 3 inch Python barrels floating around so a lot of conversions were done with these barrel lengths. At one time the king of PPC was a 6 inch barreled Smolt.
On a side note if this is for sale somewhere let me know I would buy it just to have.
"A first rate man with a third rate gun is far better than the other way around". The gun is a tool, you are the craftsman that makes it work. There are those who say "if I had to do it, I could" yet they never go out and train to do it. Don't let stupid be your mindset. Harryball 2013

And I will some day. But it felt to good in my hand and it is a hoot to shoot. Love the trigger and small enough to carry. Win, win, for everyone involved. :)
