Finally Added a .22 Magnum Rifle to my Collection
Since I've become a big fan of the little 17 HMR in recent years ( I own both a Savage and a CZ in that caliber ), I've been basically ignoring the 22 WMR. But I got a chance to get a special limited edition rifle in that caliber, and decided to add it to my magnum rimfire collection. So here in between my CZ and my Savage, is my new Browning T-Bolt in .22 WMR.
The Rifles ( From left to right ):
CZ 453 Varmint Fluted Barrel in 17 HMR with Mueller 8.5-25× 44mm Tactical
Browning 2009 Limited Edition T-Bolt Special Varmint in .22 WMR with a Nikon Buckmasters 6-18x 40mm
Savage R93 17 HMR with Sharpshooter Supply JVT stock and Nikon Buckmasters 4.5-14x 40mm

I went with a Henry lever action .22 Mag and it has been a lot of fun. Nice looking group of firearms you have there.

Here is a full length photo of the Browning:

The Browning T-Bolt Varmint Special was a limited edition that was only made in 2009. Less than a thousand rifles of all types were made. List price on the rifle was $899, and it did not sell well. Browning ended up selling all of the remaining inventory to Cabelas. That is where I found this rifle. Cabelas was all sold out of the rifle in 17 HMR by the time I learned of their availability. But that was OK with me, as I really wanted to get a 22 Mag anyway. But now they are out of the rifles in 22 magnum too.
Cabelas still has two of these gorgeous rifles available for sale in .22 Long Rifle in their Owatonna, MN store. Just go to the Gun Library on the Cabelas website, and you can actually see photos of the rifles there. The price for the rifle is only $650, which is the same price that the plain, ordinary Browning T-Bolt rifles normally sell for. So it was a no brainer for me to instead get this rifle. The stock is incredibly ergonomic and easy to shoot with. It feels wonderful to hold. Trigger is gold plated.

rather wish i could borrow most any of these lovely 22 mag rifles.
i have about 1500 rounds to dispose of. way rather shoot them than sell.
patience is waiting for the rght deal to be where i am when it is there.
as i've noticed about others--that they do not always do as i think they will nor often as they say they will.
this not only makes life interesting, it makes it dangerous too.
For Sale 1985 Toyota Supra. one owner, 82K, will pass inspection, only needs some body/rust patching

Very nice looking rifles, Lance.
There are some impressive ammunition offerings, too. I recently saw some hollow points that boasted 2300 fps. I forget the bullet weight; I want to say 30 grains, but honestly can't remember.
I am looking forward to a range report
and how it stacks up to your hummer.

I will be shooting it shortly this weekend. Hornady has a 30 gr VMAX load that gets up to 2,200 fps At 100 yards, it is still going 1,421 fps Both this load and a new Remington load that uses a 33 gr VMAX bullet, are set to set new accuracy standards for the 22 magnum. I'll be trying both with my rifle to see how they do.
Both loadings are unfortunately quite pricey, and more expensive than 17 HMR ammo.
