I just picked up an Iver Johnson Champion 12 guage. It's in pretty rough shape. No rust, a little pitting, but the blueing is about 60 percent gone. The gun has had the barrel cut down to 18-1/2 inches by a gun smith.
I want to do a cold blue treatment on it but thought it would tunr out better if I tore it down to blue. Unfortunatly I am new to shotguns and don't want to get in over my head.
Could someone point me to a link where I could find an owners manual or a description of how to tear the gun down?
I did find this:

But I dont get how your supposed to remove screws #552 and 555 since the barrel has to come off to get to them.
I would really like a manual, and would be willing to pay for it.

As nears as I can tell they were manufactured in Fitchburg Mass so if anyone has a single shot with one of these names and especially if it is made in Fitchburg, I would be interested in hearing from you.
cornellpubs.com might be able to help you.

In all reality if you are just going to do a cosmetic bluing I wouldn't go past a field strip, then I would go ahead and follow instructions for blueing, downside is cold blue jobs don't hold up real well over time
