Texas Info Please
I had to make an emergency trip to Texas for a funeral. I did print off the reciprocity agreement but not the important information about where I am not allowed to carry. And for some reason the hotel I am in will not connect to the DPS website. So other then the posted 30.06 signage and the state and federal properties are there any other places I can not carry?

Texas
Schools are out and any place that makes at least 51% of its income from alcohol sold for on premise consumption. But yeah, the 30.06 is the biggie. Restaurants are fine and Texas has the Castle Doctrine.

I am no lawyer, but as I read the law, this is correct. The Church must post a 30.06 sign to make it illegal to carry inside. Please verify the validity of this for yourself.

AZDJ1968 thanks for the links but, I am not able to connect to them for some reason from my hotel. I wrote them down and will read through them later tonight from a relatives home computer.
Cbp210 did a run of the church today it was not posted but I will not be carrying for the service. I brought my small safe to store my carry in for the service. Not worried about any trouble I know about 50 Tarrant County Sheriff's Department Officers (patrol and Jailers) will be there and a few Euless, Hurst, bedford, Haltom City and Watauga LEO as well..

On the off chance you decide to take in a Rangers game, you can't carry there.

You are correct. The law changed on this a few years ago. In the past all churches were off limits. Now only churches who choose to post a 30.06 sign are off limits, much like any other business.

Know the 30.06 sign. There are several places that have something that looks similar but is says the unlawful possession is prohibited. It is basically a pro CHL sign but I know people that mistake it for 30.06.

Yeah. That's basically it. Look for your 30.06 sign's (Not alot of them) and your 51% signs (white sign, black text with a HUGE red '51%' shadowed in the background)
Any signs other than the 30.06 mean nothing.
Medical buildings and hospitals may have signs saying something about a law regarding medical facilities but those are no good either. Has to be a 30.06.
Schools-no go. School parking lots-ok.
College campuses-no go.
Not a lawyer, just my interpretations.
