I will get it back out tomorrow and get you the s/n. Yes colt was supposed to make the saa this year but I haven't seen one yet. My shop ordered 3 and I have dibbs on one but no word at all yet.

36506SA I have never looked it up to see when it was built myself.

Looks like it was built in mid to late 1961, Dragman. '61 began with serial 33600SA and 1962 began with 35650SA. I wondered if it wasn't an older one with that box, you have a nice chunk of money setting there. :hand10:

2nd Gens are quite sought after as you probably know, and you have a pristine example. I have a 1958, but mine LOOKS like it was built in 1958 too. :wink:

Thank you sir, My colts as I am sure yours are, are investment pieces. I sell almost anything for the right price, but I mostly sell off other guns that have now "wow" factor and keep hanging onto stuff like this.

Love old Colts. Most of mine look their age too. I have a Colt Single Action Army from 1905 but it looks like it was built in 1905 too.

Oh man, I wasn't even close! (I still want it, .38WCF is even better :wink:)

But GOD, I do love the looks of that Peacemaker.

The .38 WCF (.38-40) is such a weird ol' cartridge but I really like it for some odd reason. No reason for its continued existence but it is a thumping good round that can duplicate anything the .40S&W can do since it is actually a true .40 bore. With judicious handloading it can do anything the 10mm can do though I no longer attempt such loads in the old Colt.

We could have us a Colt photo feature thread over the next few weeks. Don't want to steal Dragman's thunder and post photos here in his thread without permission and besides, I'm about to be tied up for the next few days with hardly any time to post.
