    My new carry gun

After getting my permit last year I realized my full size Kimber custom eclipse was too big for me to conceal comfortably. Doable in the Winter with coat but warm weather was going to be a problem. Bought a Walter pk380. Easy to carry, comfortable to shoot, accurate enough. Natural pointer for me. I like a gun that just comes on target easy as I bring it up. I do not like the operation of the gun, I am used to the 1911 single action system. That and concerns about enough stopping power. I know shot placement is key and I certainly would not want to take a 380 SD round to the chest but felt I wanted more.

Read many postings here as well as other internet browsing. stopped at gun store weekly to check on any new arrivals. Waited for a gun show to see if I could trade for something else. Went to show leaning towards a M&P 40c but really wanting a Springfield Armory EMP 40. Budget would not allow that. Found a M&P but when I held it I just could not say it was right for me. Then I came across a used Kimber ultra eclipse II. The guy could probably tell he had me as soon as he handed it to me. Anyway managed a deal I could live with and now I have what I think is the perfect carry gun for me.

I could use some feedback on something. This is the first used gun I have ever purchased so I am wondering if I should do anything like spring replacement and which ones? The gun looks to be in good condition but is definitely used. Some loss of blueing on the external controls slide stop, safety and grip safety. Barrel looks good. I am not knowledgeable enough to know if this is from carrying, shooting, or both. I put about 150 rounds through it, accuracy is great. Had 2 failures to feed that concern me although these were with some old cheap ammo I wanted to get rid of. Wolf brand had a sticker of 6.95 I think It was about 8 years old. Also I may not have given it as good a cleaning and lubing as I should have. Magtech ball and Eldorado starfires of about the same age worked fine. Have not had a chance to shoot since but hope to start doing some IDPA soon. Some thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Nice pair... A comment regarding wolf ammo: I will not use it in my pistols... the steel casing for one reason and secondly I have had issues with squibs and such...

Love it! I would carry that baby. My Custom II is a piece of heaven but a bit big for my daily carry. I have heard that used Kimbers can randomly explode so you should get rid of that one right away......you can send it to me for disposal.
