    Kimber Custom Shop

    I recently purchased a used Kimber Ultra Eclipse II. Ran into at gun show while looking for a new carry gun it seemed perfect. I already had a full size custom eclipse which I love so I was pretty much sold when I saw it. I need to put more ammo through it to ensure reliability but so far so good.

    In researching after I bought it I see that on gunbroker all the ultra eclipses say only Kimber on the side and mine says custom shop just like my full size.
    Can anyone tell me why and what is the difference. Also how much does this affect value. Thanks for any feedback you can provide.004 (1024x683).jpg

    I have found the Kimber "Custom Shop" logo is kind of a mystery. I've always assumed they are production line guns with special mods. Looking at yours, I belive (I'm not a Kimber expert) you have a proto-type of the Eclipse. A limited custom shop run that was successful enough to later go into full production.

    Very nice Kimber. Since you're wanting to sell it, $400.00 seems a little low. How about... $410.00 in cash, my mother-in-law, and a promise that I will shoot it more than you? The mother-in-law has some baggage, so you could sell that too :-)

    Enough of the lowball offers. will not consider unless we are talking something hot that will not complain about my toys.

    Oh wait, I'm married. Guess I will have to keep the gun and turn up the volume on the tv when she complains:)
