A couple new (to me) "Roscoes."

Finally found a Series 70 reproduction in STS, had not seen any around here since their introduction (now I can cancel the one I have on order ). Anyway, a friend found it several weeks ago and snagged it, he's a gun trader and I told him when he chewed the flavor out of it I wanted first dibs. He found a TALO CCO he wanted worse, and we made the deal. Nice pistol, I found one small cosmetic flaw, at the apex of the thumb safety notch in the slide, it looks like a little tool chatter, its no big deal as I'm sending it back to Colt tomorrow for their "complete dehorn" and will mention it in the letter (I wouldn't bother with it if it weren't already going back).

The second is a Colt Agent from 1985, which I found Saturday in a small town gun-shop. I had bought one when they were first introduced the 1980s and foolishly sold it, and have wanted another ever since. I believe the company was looking to simplify production by skipping skilled assembly steps like the hand fitting and polishing. They also offered a "Commando Special" which was a similarly finished all-steel Dick Special with Pachmayr stocks.

Have bored you enough, on to the pics.

Nice, while I really want a "100 year" gun, I think my SRP will have to fill my 2011 purchase despite it's 2007 date of manufacture.

There's just something great with those rampant Colts. Nice pair! (My wife knows I'm talking about guns.)

The Agents and Commandos were Parkerized, the parkerizing didn't take well to the aluminium frames on the Agents.

With a set of rubber or G10 stocks, the Series 70 would make for a dandy boat gun.

Being a Baer nut in addition to Colt's, I understand completely.
