Pro Mag?

I just purchased a firearm that came with only one magazine.
Factory magazines are pricey, but Pro-Mag makes a version.

What's your experience with Pro-Mag?

I read a review, and the writer liked the Pro Mag better than the stock.

The Pro-Mag has a thick base plate (Rubber?) and doesn't look as good as the stock flush fit.

I've never had a Promag product work right, tried a couple different pistol mags and some M1A mags, all JUNK.

Was that review written by a promag employee? Because for what I have seen on nearly every forum I've been on, the overwhelming opinion is against promag. Normally the price difference is only a few bucks. The only non-factory mags I would buy are Mec-gars and they make some oem mags.

I have three pro-mag magazines for my Sig P-6. They work really well.

Run, don't walk, away from anything made by Pro-Mag.

The first one I ever bought happened to work just fine in a compact Taurus. The next couple, bought for other guns, weren't worth the plastic they were wrapped in. They succumbed to "percussive maintenance."

I have a Pro-Mag mag for my USP only because HK mags are like $893456783457604. I only use it for the range. I don't trust the Pro-Mag for night stand duty, I only trust the factory HK mags. With that said, I've never had the Pro-Mag fail to function properly.

The one I bought for my Bersa 380 works as well as the factory mag that came with it.

Their Galil mag in .308 is a true P.O.S.

OP didn't say what kind of gun, but MecGar makes magazines for most guns, and they work. MecGar is the magazine manufacturer for alot of gun makers.

I would stay away from ProMag. I recommend Mecgar mags.

What gun?

I like Tapco mags, they work really great in my AK, for my 1911 I use Chip Mc Cormicks, best mags on the market in my opinion.

You have larger stones then I. I can't imagine mixing a Taurus a long with Promags! LOL
