Church gift to the pastor.....
So, I'm cruising through some pictures of my home church (which I miss, dearly). The man who's been the pastor there since before I was born was recently given a gift by the congregation...
It starts out with pictures of him getting a blue box, opening the box and then THIS picture....
I love my home church!!
I'm from WI and, as you know, this is the first year in WI that concealed carry will be legal. We've been talking about going up to WI and teaching a few classes. Perhaps my pastor will be one of our students and bring his new Glock!
I have a feeling carry will not be a problem at that church.

I believe Glock was mentioned in the Bible...somewhere....can't quite exactly remember the book and verse, but I know it is in there somewhere.

The blue box was just a decorative box like what you'd get a sweater in.

I wonder who came up with the idea. I certainly wish I could have been there.

Probably where Christ turned to Peter and said something to the effect of "Upon this Glock I will build my church".

that's really cool with the preacher standing at the pulpit with his new pistol.
Last year I took up a collection in my Sunday School class and we bought our Sunday School teacher (also an associate pastor) a Ruger SA6 convertible. He has since bought at least five more firearms, built a "range" on his property, taken up reloading and now casting his own bullets.

That MAY be true...but one mention in that big old book??? Of course the inventor of my favorite sidearm, the 1911, is mentioned countless times...by first name and middle! Now that is a pistol of Biblical proportion!

Cool gift, but I think he's holding it wrong...

Nice! Maybe if I forward this to the folks at my church they will give me one for my 5th anniversary in June!
Well done, church. The smile on his face means that he appreciated it. As a pastor, I can tell you that the work is hard and sometimes lonely, the hours can stink, and the criticism can be hard to take. But the job is definitely the best thing I have ever done, and to have your congregation appreciate your effort in ways like this is fuel for the soul.
