I am a Taurus fan. I own 2. I've have also owned a Glock 17 3rd gen. My carry sidearm is a Taurus PT945. The weapon has always been reliable. My Glock estractor chipped on the first 50 rounds. I would have no problem buying another Taurus and I would have no problem buying another Glock.
You don't "own" a taurus handgun you share custody of it with the repair shop in miami.
Never heard it put that way... but seems to be the case with some of their Autos

I never had a moment's trouble with a Taurus. Both my revolvers and automatics have been trouble free for many years. Of course they've always been traditional Colts and Smith & Wessons. Bet I can get through life without ever owning a Taurus.
I recently inherited a Taurus, but my sister wanted it really bad so I gave it to her. That's the closest that I've ever come to owning one.
(I kept the Colts and Brownings)
