I have owned 2 Springer 1911s, and both gave good service.

    'Another Springer 1911 fan.

Just make sure you have a good holster and a sturdy belt because those aren't no little light-weight sissy guns.

I've considered the Champ TNS for a carry gun more than once. In fact, I'm considering it again as I type this...

I had a Springfield Loaded Champion SS, that after going back to the factory for feed problems with defensive rounds, worked fine. I'd still have it if I hadn't picked up a DW C-BOB.

If your looking for a carry gun I'd go with the CHAMP TNS, for a range gun go with the SRVC TGT.

I already have a SA 1911 Mil-Spec in S/S which I really, really like but it is pretty much basic. No sight options for example. (without machining that is.) I am thinking the CHAMP would be easier for CC but dressed appropriately either would work for me. The ambi safety is something I would like since I don't have that option on the Mil-Spec. Weight is certainly not an issue. Expecially since there is only 3oz between these two options.

    Thanks and best!

Springfield makes a fine 1911. The other major bonus is they have great customer service.

I can't add anything else to this ^^^ statement. Same reason I got my Springfield 1911.

I like my 5" Loaded Combat. The 5" is easier to strip, the 4" may be a tad easier to carry, but not much. I would go with the one that feels best to you.

I love my Loaded Champion, no issues.

Is there still a problem with the 1911's feeding hollow point ammo like in the old days? For instance the Springfield Mil spec? If there was a problem then being Mill Spec and the gun is manufactured today at the same military specifications, wouldn't there still be the same problem? There's one in stainless that I fell in love with and it wants to come home with me, but only if it's not restricted to FMJ.
