    TAURUS 1911 (9mm) Range Report

Wow! Got to the range this morning with the 1911 in 9mm. All I can say is wow - sweet.

I love this pistol. My only non-positive comment is that the slide did NOT lock open after the last round.

Handles sweetly. Trigger is smooth and light. It's just one nice pistol. I am thrilled I made the jump and bought it.

The target below shows the grouping. Two five round magaines. All were hand held from a distance of approximately 12 feet. Sighting was loosely a 6 o'clock hold sighting just under that high round. Great pistol.

Sorry about the images not showing up in the thread. I kept getting the error not a valid url but the images did show when I clicked on the link. Maybe this will work.

Glad you are happy with it

I have two of the Taurus 1911's in 45 acp and they have been, without doubt, my most reliable 1911's. Just to put that in context, I also own 5 Kimbers, two Rock Islands, a Springfield and a GSG 22. In addition I have also owned a couple more Springers and a couple of Colts along the way. I have been thinking about getting a Taurus in 9mm if they handle hollow points well. Let us know.

Holy crap a Taurus that didn't have a FTF or Fte or the round come out and take a 90 degree left turn or blow up in your face. I have to say my friend you can't be serious everyone knows Taurus is a piece of crap please rewrite your post so the prices won't go up so I can keep on buying them. Congrats on a good find!!

    Nice pattern.
Ignorance is a long way from stupid, but left unchecked, can get there real fast.

Good to know. Next time I want a gun that can shoot 6" groups at 4 yards, I'll look to Taurus.

No, it did none of that, yet it still managed to fail. Hopefully some aftermarket mags will solve that issue.

Well we all gotta' start somewhere...

RangeFinder, I've found this drill very helpful with building accuracy.

As for the failure to lock open, could be them mags, could be your grip.
