    Thompson Center question

Just wondering if anyone can help me here.......I've been thinking about bying my father a T/C Encore pistol, Id like to have it chambered in 30.06 just because thats the cartrige he uses in his deer rifle. My question is for people who have them or know anything about them. What do you think this will run me?? Short of going to the gun shop and asking them Ive done everything else to find out with no luck. Also what are you thoughts on them. Ive never shot one nor has my father but he seems to like them anyway and has made a comment about getting one more then once. Let me know what ya think. Thanks

I have a Contender and two barrels and a buddy has an Encore.

I have no price info to hand but feel sure that a browse on Gunbroker and Gunsamerica will give some ballpark figures - plus maybe a Google as well. Making a big guess I am thinking a complete Encore - barrel of choice and frame will be perhaps $700 region.

They are great guns but I am not sure if I'd want quite such a potent cartridge - and I love hand cannons!! I have most enjoyment from my Contender with .223 actually tho would like to add 45-70 barrel, but having a BFR in that cal have not bothered.

I have little doubt your Dad would love a T/C - just not sure about being that cal.
