Scored a nice Crickett .22 rifle for my little girl today. $100 at the local
Wal Mart and the only place I could find in my area with a pink gun. I was thinking about what to get my boy when a deal fell into my lap at the shop where I work. A customer cancelled a lay a way on a Rossi combo in .22/.410 so I put my name on that. This one is blue with a black plastic stock. Hers has a plain peep sight (FYI the scope base is not included) while his rifle has fiber optic 3 dot sights.
Merry Christmas kids, now to find a lefty friendly deer rifle for my wife. She says it will be blued and have fancy wood, the rest is up to me.
Nice. My girls are getting a pink red ryder BB gun for Christmas. They are just showing some interest in learning to shoot. I've got a cricket in the safe I bought when my oldest was born.
That peep sight on the Cricket will teach her to shot well very quickly. IMO that is the best platform to start new shooters out on.
My son has put thousands of rounds through his Cricket, they are well worth the 100 bucks to get kids started shooting.
Do the Rossi's still have plastic sights on them? I passed on a Rossi .243 for him this year and went with an H&R because it had good metal sights on it.
I am sure they both will enjoy their Christmas this year. Shoot safe.
Excellent. Train them well. SWMBO got her LC9 early and has green lighted a 1911 for me. Now I've just got to figure out if I wait for the SR1911 or something else :danceban:
I just picked up a rem 514y for my girls. They are 6 and 8 and both have an interest in going shooting with me so I will try to nurture it. The wife sent me to Bass Pro to get a pink red ryder and I came home with a .22 . I thought she was going to be upset but she actually lasughed and said she expected it.
What is everybody else getting their kid(s) this year?
The Rossi has fiber optic plastic sights. I ordered the scope base for the Crickett, and I have a little red dot for when she's ready but we are starting with the peep.
I also scored a pair of Savage 101 pistols for next to nothing so their first handguns are taken care of in a few years.
I also found an old .22 rifle for one of their first suppressors. I can't really justify threading the Crickett, being her first real gun of her own, and same with the Rossi even though it's inexpensive. I want one of the Papoose takedown rifles for an integral suppressor for one of them.
The Superhouse is gonna have a super Christmas this year. Awesome for the kids and dad too.
